Absurd!

Map: Showing how the "Palestinian nation" fraud is a cover-up for the obvious absurdity of taking lands from the Jewish state to give them to the 22 Arab or 57 Muslim ones

The idea of the “Palestinian nation” is inseparable from the plan to eliminate the Jewish State (God forbid). It is therefore not possible to be both pro-Israel and pro-“Palestine” at the same time, even though many of those who claim to be so are just deceived, not malicious.

The name, “Palestine” was given by the Roman emperor Hadrian, in order to sever the connection of the Jews with their land. His empire is now nothing but a lengthy chapter in the page of time, and he who understands will understand.

A Question of Trust

To all those armchair statesmen calling for dragging Israel to negotations table:

Collage: Muslim reactions to slight things, such as the Danish Cartoons; maps of the peace treaties accepted by Israel, and the Muslim reactions to them; caption: "They cannot be trusted to restrain themselves over a few words or drawings, so what makes you think they can be trusted to keep land-for-peace deals?!"
Non-Muslim actions and the immediate Muslim reactions. Click image to view full size.

Yes, I know the replies: “It’s not about religion, it’s about land, it’s a nationalistic dispute between two equal claimants” (that’s why we find this pattern of “resistance” all over the world), “The people on both sides want peace, it’s just their leaders who push for belligerence” (paging Daniel Goldhagen… and see also Ben Shapiro’s recent column, hat tip to Steven Plaut), “Tiny minority of extremists” (yeah, that’s why Osama Bin Laden has never been excommunicated, while a Friday mosque sermon is enough to drive thousands upon thousands into a frenzy). Please, get your heads out of the sand and look at reality: Islamic fascistic imperialism is the elephant in the room, and it can’t be persuaded to stop its stampede by any gifts of appeasement. Fighting back is the only way.

Viva Thailestina!

From the River to the Sea,
From the River to the Sea,
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

From the Mekong River
To the Andaman Sea,
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

We are fighting for our freedom
From oppressive colonizers.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

We have been here in this land
For as long as we can remember.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

The indigenous people
Of Thailestine are rising.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

The aggressive Buddhist state
Fights our self-determination, but
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

We are being brutalized
By a strong military.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

All we have is our bodies,
To strap resistance belts on.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

We are weak and oppressed,
So resist by any means.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

Every Buddhist farmer, and his wife and children too
Are enemy combatants, worthy of beheading [G-d forbid. —ZY], so that
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

We will press on with our struggle
’Til the Bangkok regime bends.
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

From the Mekong River
To the Andaman Sea,
Thailestine– Will– Be– Free!

Viva, viva Thailestina!
Viva, viva Thailestina!
Thailestine–
Will–
Be–
Free!

Map: Thailand, with arrows going from the star and crescent in the South to all over the country

And now that we are finished
With addressing Western dupes,
Let us give the real message to ours:

From the ocean to the ocean,
And from pole to freezing pole,
Muslim, the world belongs to thee!

Livin’ in a Happy (Virtual) Nation

[iraqi-nation.png]
Now you don’t see me, now you do. How the “Iraqi nation” was created with pencil and ruler. Click image to view full size.

Of the things that the Leftards come complaining to me about, the top one is my assertion that the “Palestinians” are a fictitious nation, conceived for the purpose of winning hearts and minds in the West against Israel. “That’s a conspiracy theory worthy of the Protocols!”, they say. (Interestingly, that’s the same sort of complaint Bat Ye’or and Fjordman got about the Eurabia theory, which the latter masterfully refuted. I’m flattered to be in such company.) Here is my answer, which I give by taking the same situation but with a different nation that I hold to be fictitious, a nation whose reality I don’t particularly care about (contra the “Palestinian nation” question).

A conspiracy involves a group of plotters hatching a plan in secret. I do not say, nor did I ever say, that the “Palestinian nation” was devised in such a setting. The “Palestinian nation” is the same as the “Iraqi nation” in being the artifact of the pencil-strokes of Western colonial powers, drawn independently of the demographic divisions on the ground; this is true for Africa also. Many pan-Arab activists in the past, and many pan-Islamic activists in the present, have written against the idea of such “nations” precisely on that basis. The patriotic ideal, which holds that different groups of people can form unity on the basis of geographic proximity, has been a near-total failure; Belgium is one of the few countries in which it is successful, while Czechoslovakia (1919–39), Yugoslavia (1992–5), Lebanon (1976–90), Rwanda (1994) and now Iraq are just a partial list of where it can be seen to have drowned in a pool of blood. The nationalistic ideal, which puts ethnicity first and geography second, is the way to go; though not without its problems (especially when promoted into imperialism, as Nazism did for German nationalism), it is far more conducive to peace than the idea that mere lines on the map could act as melting-pot for very disparate groups.

There is no Iraqi nation; a Britishman and a Frenchman just sat and drew lines on the map to decide which territories each would get upon the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. Britain got Mesopotamia, to govern it as an entity called, “Iraq”, an entity comprised of Sunni Arabs, Shia Arabs, Kurds and Assyrian Christians. France did the same for Lebanon: Maronite Christians, Sunnis, Shia and Druzes were lumped up in that single entity, regardless of their irreconcilable differences. The “Iraqi nation” held on just like the “Yugoslavian nation”—by the force of a strongman. Lebanon’s state was from an early stage, and is right now, like walking on a tightrope, with demographic shifts and non-state actors (PLO, Hizbullah) ever threatening to plunge it into a civil war. “Lebanese” is a geographic reference; there is no such nation.

Likewise there is no sharp demarcation line separating the Arabs of the Land of Israel from those of the Sinai Peninsula or of Syria or of Jordan; British Mandate borders were once again ruled arbitrarily. In truth, all the Levant is a continuum of Arabs; the Arab living in the Galilee has no problem comprehending the Arab just across the border in Lebanon, while he will regard the Bedouin Arab of the Negev as an alien, though both are living in the same state (Israel) and regarded by the world as being “Palestinians”. The idea of the “Palestinian nation”, just like the idea of internationalizing Jerusalem, had not come to the fore until there was a concrete and urgent purpose for it: fighting the Jews. From the beginning of this conflict (early 20th century) to this day, the grievance toward the Zionist Jews has always been the exact same grievance toward the Christian Spaniards post-1492: land once ruled by Islam cannot lawfully be brought back to non-Islamic rule. Mufti Hajj Amin El-Husseini (long may he roast in hell) thought so in his day, and Ismail Haniyyeh (may he go to hell soon) thinks so now, and the fact of Christian Arab dupes still believing in the “Palestinian” dream changes nothing. But there is great utility in keeping the “Palestinian nation” narrative, just as there was great utility for Jordan and Egypt to keep the refugees of 1947–9 in their squalid conditions from 1949 to 1967, as a propaganda point against the “Evil Zionists”. One has only to read a Leftist website or magazine to see this.

If there is any theoretical negotiated peace proposal for this conflict, then it could only be a two-state solution, for the two conflicting nations, the Israeli Jews and the “Palestinians”, are very different—more different from each other as the warring sects in present-day Iraq, for they share neither ethnicity nor religion in common. Anyone who advocates a one-state solution here, all the while that the fruits of a one-state aggregation of disparate groups are clear for everyone to see in Iraq, is either criminally stupid or diabolically malicious. But, as I said, the two-state solution is only theoretically better than the one-state solution, which has no redeeming value, because the narrative of “two nations being equal claimants to the land” is false. While the Israeli Jews, on the grassroots level and not just from the government, gave that narrative its chance for at least seven years (1993–2000, from the Oslo Accords to the Second Intifada), the “Palestinians” have never, not in 1929 and not now in 2007, been willing to think of Zionism as anything other than a colonialist invasion, an attack on Dar Al-Islam. For them, any two-state solution is just a step toward a one-state solution, itself only a stage on the way to the dream of reliving the past glory (of Arab supremacism, or Islamic supremacism, or both at the same time).

For as much as can be salvaged from the mess of Iraq—the result of President Bush’s naïve vision of making friends through democratization—the best solution is for it to be partitioned according to its demographic lines. The damage of Sykes-Picot was covered for more than 80 years by the strong rule of the British, the Hashemite kings and finally Saddam Hussein, but make no mistake: just like in Yugoslavia, the lid was waiting for the slightest opening in order to burst out. This is because of the simple fact that there is no Iraqi nation—lines drawn over a map do not a nation make.

Nor is there a case for a de facto “Palestinian nation”, based on the patriotic ideal, even when the Jews are factored out: as I outlined briefly, even within the 1949 Armistice Line borders of Israel there are many groups, far too different from each other for peaceful coexistence. Christian Arabs, Druzes, Muslims, Circassians, Bedouins and the multitude of tribal divisions that make the stories of the feuds of Irish clans look tame in comparison are too great an obstacle for peace. In the entire Middle East, the only states without internal strife are those where all the population is the member of a single tribe. Tribe, umbrella ethnos (Arab) or religion (Islam) are the only demarcations recognized here; nationalism has no chance, for it is a foreign import, brought along with Napoleon Bonaparte and his men. A foreign import, with only one exception.

And that exception is the Jews. Whether at the first time, when the Land of Israel was divided between Canaanites, Emorites, Jebusites, Girgashites and numerous other Semitic tribes, or in the modern era, when it is being claimed by people both splintered among themselves (as warring tribes and clans) and viewing themselves as part of a greater whole (Arab supernation or Islamic global ummah), the Jews have always been the only true Israelis, the only true Palestinians, the one and only real nation of this land. This nation was created not by two foreign officials dividing a pie for their own nations to eat, but by G-d; brought out of slavery in Egypt and birthed at Mount Sinai by the Ruler of the World for His purpose, under His infallible hand. If some American officials, on both sides of the political map (a rare occurrence nowadays), have come to the conclusion that an “Iraqi nation, governing itself on Western principles, just like any European state” is a lost cause, and is better off partitioned according to its demography, then it should not be so far-fetched to repartition the Land of Israel according to its constituent nationalities; only change that plural to singular, because there is only one group that is really a nation on the Land of Israel, and that is the Jews. “Free Palestine, from the river to the sea!” indeed, but only when it has been recognized that the Palestinians (the true ones, without scare quotes) are none other than the Jews.

As for the rest… the rest of the Middle East, and the rest of the world at large—the thorn in the side of world peace is now, as it was in World War II, imperialism. The fact that that imperialism is in the form a religion makes no difference. And trying to solve it by addressing the grievances of virtual nations won’t work. There is no “Iraqi nation”; there is no “Lebanese nation”; there is no “Palestinian nation”; there is a Jewish nation, an Iranian nation (its heritage suppressed by Islam), a welter of Arab identities along a geographic continuum, and a religion that is split between a particular cultural heritage (of the 7th century Arabia from which it sprang; hence the ability to paint anti-dhimmitude as “anti-Arab racism”) and a global mission (world domination, subjugation of all humanity to its rule, much like Nazism and Communism). A tangled web, no doubt. But at least the Leftists now can’t blame me for being simplistic…

For the Geographically-Challenged

How many times did I see the comparison of the Zionists to the French colonials, and the “Palestinians” to the Algerians? A lot. How many times did I see that comparison made with absolutely no regard to the fundamental difference between the two places? About as many times. So, beside a post dealing with that, I now bring a visual depiction to show why that analogy doesn’t work.

Map: Top: Distance of 756 km between Algiers and Marseille, with caption, "A motherland to flee to, a sea apart..." Bottom: Distance of 16 km between Netanya and Tulkarm, with caption, "...next-door neighbors, and this IS the motherland!"
A map-based reality check. Click to view full size.

Picture yourself living in a major city of your country with the enemy just a simple rocket’s launch away from you, and then you’ll realize what the inhabitants of Sderot have to go through every day. And maybe you’ll realize why the demand that Israel give up its lands is far removed from a call for states like France and Britain to decolonize.

The Algerians, by the way, are now, in one of those fickle twists of history, the colonists in French cities, forming no-go zones neighboring those of their non-Muslim French hosts, complete with shariah law, cousin marriage, mosques where the doctrine of Islamic world domination is preached and quarters where terrorist plots are hatched. Such is true for much of Europe. You tried to appease, but it has come to you nonetheless. Soon you will be faced with a stark choice.

Testing For Consistency

Let’s see how consistent our average pro-“Palestinian” is. For Britain you can substitute any country a nation other than the current inhabiting one has a claim on. As usual, I welcome anyone else to improve upon my pathetic graphic design skills.

Drawing: Top: "Do you think the Celts have a Right of Return?", beside map of Irish, Scots and Welsh going to other parts of Britain; Middle: map of people from the 1967 territories going to 1949 Armistice Line Israel, beside "If not, why do you think the 'Palestinians'do?"; Bottom: "If so, why do you think the Jews don't?", beside map of people returning to the Land of Israel from all the world.

Awaiting answers… And consider also this: two out of the three peoples mentioned in the drawing are real. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to find out the odd man out.

Some Choice…

Take a look and consider. No ideology here whatsoever, just cold, hard pragmatism.

Picture, describing with maps: the Land of Israel is what we Jews want, and we have no problem with all the rest of the world belonging to the non-Jews; in contrast, the whole world is what the Muslims want, and they have a big problem with any part of the world not being theirs.

Changing the Tune

Here’s my poster on the call to recognize the changed times and, therefore, to abandon the obsolete thoughts and words for something else, something new yet very old:

Picture: Changing the Tune
As our haters have changed their tune, so must we. (Click to view full size)

Commentary

Top: Yossi Beilin and Uri Avneri represent the Israeli Peacenik Left, which still believes in a diplomatic solution for the conflict. They make a difference between the 1949 Armistice territories and the 1967 territories. They believe this is all a nationalistic land dispute that can be defused on the lines of “Land for Peace”. No matter that the facts show otherwise.

Center: Hugo Chávez represents the Left, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad represents Islam. Both allies in this covenant of the damned are agreed that Israel is a mistake and should be dismantled (G-d forbid) as reparations for its “dispossessed” Muslim “indigenous inhabitants”. They make no distinction whatsoever between the 1949 and 1967 territories.

Bottom: We Jews need to realize that the view of the above two is in a vigorous process of becoming mainstream. It’s already politically correct to blame Islamic terrorism worldwide on Israel (see for example the words of John Reid regarding the possibility of a terrorist attack on Britain on Christmas: “He said it was important to resolve the issue of Israel and Palestine because it ‘fuels international terrorism’.”) The leaning on the Holocaust as justification for the state of Israel carries no more weight today (see the following from Daily Kos, by commenter VoiceFromTheOuterWorld: “Ahmadinejad is highlighting the fact that the Holocaust occurred in Europe NOT Palestine and that, therefore, Palestinians should not be paying for European crimes.”), and even the argument that we have made the desert bloom is beaten back by the moralistic argument, “But those are still lands you stole from another people”. Now that the masks have fallen, it’s time to unashamedly claim that all this land is ours, using the title deed that G-d has given us, as narrated in Rashi’s very first commentary to the Torah. Of course, in order to be worthy of that title deed, we must keep G-d’s commandments; happily, it looks as if many Jews are headed that way.

As for the quality of the poster: I already said, way back in August, that I got my photoshopping skills at the Reuters school of digital image manipulation, so don’t go expecting anything from me beyond making the picture clear enough to convey its message.

End the Occupation!

The occupation of indigenous peoples by invaders from outside, whether physical or cultural, is the root cause of all political hatred and violence in our world today. In order to secure just and lasting peace for the peoples of the world, it is necessary to end all forms of occupation and give both territories and cultures back to the people who had been the physical and cultural owners of the land for so long until the invaders brutally stole it and colonized it.

Here are a few examples of lands that need to be returned to their rightful owners, or cultures that need to be restored after being violated by cultural imperialists:

Egypt

Picture: Map of Egypt

The Copts are the descendants of the original Egyptians. Their original language, Coptic, a lineal descendant of the Egyptian of the Pharaohs, has been replaced by Arabic, the language of the invaders. The Copts themselves, Christians, suffer constant persecution from the Islamic rulers of the land. Islam is an Arab religion and has been the vehicle of Arab imperialism and colonialism since its inception worldwide.

Iran

Picture: Map of Iran

The Iranian people still retain their original language (albeit full of loanwords from Arabic, the language of the colonialist occupiers), but their original heritage from the days of Cyrus, of the Avestas and of the Magi is suppressed by the primacy of Islam, a religion brought in by invaders from outside. This constitutes cultural imperialism and is unacceptable. The indigenous culture of the Persian people must be restored.

Turkey

Picture: Map of Turkey; also shown: Occupied Constantinople

Anatolia, also called Asia Minor, was an inseparable part of Greek territory and culture before its occupation by Turkish Muslims, and subsequent depopulation of its indigenous inhabitants in September 1922. Its ancient city of Constantinople has been under the yoke of the colonialist occupier since 1453, with its greatest church, the Hagia Sophia, dating from the 6th century, converted to a mosque.

It is in the interests of world peace and justice that the colonialist invaders evacuate the occupied territories and return them to their rightful owners.

Picture: Map of Greece with restored territories

Albania and Bosnia

Picture: Map of Albania and Bosnia

Albania and Bosnia are both lands in Christian Europe, occupied and colonized in the past by the same Muslim Turks who are still occupying Greece (see above). Although the physical occupation of the Turks is long gone, Albania and Bosnia suffer from the effects of cultural imperialism, their population consisting of people adhering to the religion of the former occupiers, and its cultural heritage, such as the churches in Kosovo, in danger.

India

Picture: Map of Pakistan and Bangladesh

India has been subjected to invasion and subsequent colonization by Muslims on both its west and east. The current neighboring states of Pakistan and Bangladesh were formed only for the sake of accommodating the colonialist invaders and codifying the unjust status quo. Pakistan is the land of the Indus valley, where the most ancient artifacts of Indian civilization were found. Bangladesh was India’s greatest source of income before being stolen by the Muslims. The occupation must end now, and the Hindu territories returned to their rightful owners.

Picture: Map of India with restored territories

North Africa

Picture: Map showing the distribution of Amazigh and Berber speakers in North Africa

North Africa (Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia) are under the cultural occupation of Arab invaders from the east. The native languages, Berber and Amazigh, compete with that of the invaders, Arabic. Furthermore, the religion of the occupiers, Islam, has brutally suppressed and replaced the former religions of the area, such as Christianity, to which influential figures such as Augustine of Hippo held. The cultural heritage of the native Berbers must be reinstated, as well as religious freedom, in order for peace and justice to reign.

Britain

“I am furious, I am absolutely furious—John Reid should not come to a Muslim area, we do not want to see him. John Reid, Tony Blair and George Bush’s crusade can all go to hell”, he [Abu Izzadeen —ZY] said today during Mr Reid’s speech.

Source: UK Home Secretary Reid jeered during speech to Muslims, on Jihad Watch.

The Islamic colonialists must be made to understand that merely forming a neighborhood in a non-Islamic host country for some length of time does not make that area Islamic territory. The United Kingdom is a state with its own laws, laws which Muslims must accept if they wish to be respectable citizens there; if not, they are free to move to states with laws of their liking instead. Colonialist invasion of any kind is unacceptable and is detrimental to world peace.

Picture: Map of London

Israel

Acharon chaviv (“Last but not least”): the Jews are the indigenous people of the Land of Israel, in that they have been its inhabitants for the longest, and their claim is further corroborated by a charter given by an important Personage in a high position. The Jewish people has never desired any other part of the world than this, in contrast to the imperialistic colonialists of Islam, who believe they are entitled to the entirety of the world. In the interests of just and lasting peace, the Jewish people must be allowed to inhabit their land with no impediments.
