Tip: Haveil Havalim #104
Another tip to the Jewish blog carnival Haveil Havalim, featuring the posts I liked best. From issue #104, January 28, 2007, hosted on The Life of Rubin:
-
Jameel at the Muqata tops the list with a post doing sanegoria of Am Yisrael: Despite
Olmert,Katzav,Halutzthem all, ISRAEL IS AMAZING., January 25, 2007. - Martin Solomon, of Solomonia, posts about life for Jews as dhimmis in Muslim Yemen: Being a Minority in an Islamic State, from January 23, 2007. Let it be very clear that, should the “Right of Return” for the “Palestinians” be carried out, that’s how life for Jews in Israel would look like (G-d forbid)—Herzl’s vision unmade.
- Ocean Guy, on his blog, posts the piece Tell me Again...., from January 25, 2007, showing with two maps from the early 1920’s how far back the attempt to divide the land goes. Finding out why it failed even in that period is left as an exercise to the reader.
- Jack’s Shack, of “Random thoughts- Do they have meaning?”, quotes Daniel Gordis at length in The Future Of Israel/Judaism, from January 24, 2007. Even if you don’t agree with it all, it’s very thought-provoking.
The post of mine featured on this issue of Haveil Havalim is On a Few Comments on DKos, from January 23, 2007.
